BORDER TOWN (9) finished third, beaten one length, when resuming from a lay-off last start over 5f at this track after he was in contention on the bend. Nicely placed to take this out. RAINBOW GODDESS (3) kept coming only to just miss last start over 6f at Wyong. Should be near her peak for this. Has started two times at this course and distance and is yet to miss the placings. Won't find this as tough so she is likely to play a big role. MACKINAW PEACH (11) is a three-start maiden who resumed from a lay-off last start and was beaten 4 lengths when seventh over 6f at this track. Should progress from that last outing and poses a genuine threat. WESTERN LANE (2) was out of the money on debut two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 6f at this track, beaten 3.5 lengths into fourth after being in contention on the corner. Nicely placed to feature in the finish.
