IRON HAWK (1) was out of the money when resuming from a lay-off last start over 7f at Randwick Kensington, beaten 4 lengths after being in contention on the bend. Finds a suitable race and can get the job done. IMPERIAL STATE (3) was a determined maiden winner last time out, scoring by 0.7 lengths over 5½f at Gosford. Shaping up nicely and he cannot be underestimated. SHAMBRETTA (2) opened this prep with a win then couldn't follow that up last time out when seventh over 5½f at Gosford, beaten 11 lengths. Should be thereabouts.
