ROYAL EMPRESS (6) wasn't far off maiden success before a break of 16 months, finishing the campaign with a minor placing over 6f at Gosford. Placed in a recent trial. Set for a bold return. BABY DAISY (4) has been in the placings at her last two starts, finishing third last time over 5f at Moruya after she gave away a big start. Finds a tougher race but she has the ability to test this field. VICUNA (8) produced a fair effort on debut last time out when 3.5 lengths from the winner in seventh at Hawkesbury over 5½f. Expected to do more.
