VENDEMMIA (6) returns from a layoff of five months. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a lay-off last prep over 6f at Cranbourne. Has switched to the Tony & Maddysen Sears stable. Should be hard to stop. SIMPLY EXCELS (2) was well in commission on his debut over 5½f at this track back on August 9 and finished fourth, beaten 2.75 lengths. Big chance with race experience now on board. CASTERLY ROCK (3) is a four-year-old gelding who is having his first run for the Jack Bruce stable. Resumes after finishing fifth at Newcastle at his last run six months ago. Hasn't trialled publicly but looks well placed. Definite winning chance. LANTAU ISLAND (1) returns after five-and-a-half months in the paddock. Closed the last campaign with a seventh over 5f at Sunshine Coast. Placed in a recent trial. Can kick off with a bold showing.
