TRIBAL COUNCIL (3) settled well back but hit the line well to finish fifth, beaten 0. 9 lengths, over 5½f here last time. Capable of overwhelming this field late in proceedings. MISS LYRA (10) didn't make an impact at her last run before going for a lay-off on February 20, finishing eighth and beaten 4. 5 lengths over 7f at Launceston. Lines up. For the first time for trainer Stuart Gandy. Rates highly and makes plenty of appeal. HUBUBBAJAHN (12) has a moderate winning strike-rate but performed well when returning from a break last time at this track, finishing third and only a head from the winner at the end of 5½f after being in contention on the corner. Perfectly placed and is sure to be there at the finish. ALPINE FURY (1) resumed two weeks ago over 5½f at this track and was only beaten 1. 75 lengths into seventh. Fitter this time will prove harder to beat.
