IRISH JIG (1) ran a strong second over 6f at Quirindi two runs back then was below his best last time over 6½f when sixth, beaten 1. 75 lengths. Looks better placed over this shorter trip so a bold showing is expected. IMPERIAL STATE (5) has progressed nicely in his last couple of runs. Finished second at Tamworth two starts back then got the job done by a long neck as favourite last time out over 7f at Tamworth. Likely to be in the finish again. DEMARCATE (3) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 6f at Quirindi, beaten 1. 5 lengths into fifth after being in contention on the turn. Best figures measure up nicely. Sure to run well. GELSEY (9) resumed a week-and-a-half ago over 5f at Quirindi and was only beaten a long neck into fourth. Fitter this time will prove harder to beat.
