MARINE GIRL (3) was a winner over 6f at Quirindi last time, racing on the pace before getting the upper hand and scoring by a nose. Will be tough to rein in again. THE AFFIRMATIVE (6) just missed last time when a long neck away in third at Armidale over 5½f. Right in the mix. DEVOTED DEPUTY (2) comes here off a last-start fifth, beaten 3.5 lengths, over 6f at Quirindi. Best figures measure up favourably. SOUTH BULLAWAY (5) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a nice race last time out, finishing fourth and beaten only 1.4 lengths over 6f at Warren. Well placed and should be about the mark.
