ANA CAROLINA (8) has been racing in great heart with two top-three finishes on end, the latest a third over 1m2 3/4f at Goulburn when she was always up in the leading division. Nicely placed to give this a mighty shake. SOUTHERN DANCER (7) settled well back from a wide draw last time then wound up strongly to finish fifth over 1m at Albury. Outsprinted in the run home but kept coming and the longer journey looks ideal. Sure to prove tough to stop. FIRST DAY (2) has been out of the placings in two runs since a break, the latest when ninth, beaten 8 lengths, over 1m2f at Ballarat after she settled well back. Cherry-ripe now and is among the main hopes. DOPPIO (10) finished 7 lengths from the winner in fifth last time out over 1m2f at Kilmore on February 21. Won't find this as tough. Don't underestimate.
