HEY DAISY (4) showed good early dash at the first run after a lay-off last time out and led for most of the way before being claimed and finishing 1. 75 lengths away in second over 5f at Sunshine Coast. Will take catching. THE ROOKIE (8) was too good for a maiden field last start over 5f at Ballina, scoring by a nose. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Re-unites with Yvette Lewis who was on board last start. Can go right on with the job now. PERFECT BETH (10) did little and finished 7 lengths from the winner in 12th over 5½f at Gatton last start, a less impressive effort than her fourth at Toowoomba the run before. Must raise the bar but a big run will not surprise. COSMIC TREASURE (7) comes here off a break of three months. Worth noting she filled a minor placing when returning from a lay-off last prep over 4½f at Muswellbrook. Now under the care of new trainer John Higgins. Looks one of the genuine hopes in the race.
