RUSSIAN DIVA (6) finished third when resuming two runs back at Ipswich then progressed nicely last time out to score by 1.5 lengths over 5½f at Beaudesert. Finds a suitable race and can make it two in succession. TE PANI (3) scored at her last run over 5f at Dubbo on December 3. Has switched stables during a break. Finished fourth in a trial over 5¼f at Gold Coast. Generally runs well when fresh, recording two minor placings from four runs. Expected to be in the finish. BATTLE OF VIENNA (2) showed good early dash and raced on the speed at the first run back from a break last start before fading to finish 3.5 lengths back in sixth over 5f at Sunshine Coast. Solid top-three claims. GRAND CRUSADER (4) is experiencing a long win drought, extended last start when eighth over 5½f at Ipswich after he got a long way back in the run. Likely improver who should be thereabouts.
