MODISTE (9) finished third, beaten 3.5 lengths, when resuming from a lay-off last start over 5½f at Sunshine Coast Poly after she worked home well. Nicely placed to go a couple better. CHERBOURG (7) finished third at Sunshine Coast Poly two runs back but was less effective last time over 6f at Doomben, finishing 8 lengths back in ninth. Finds a more suitable contest and can turn things around. OVERTERN (12) hit the frame when resuming two runs back at Sunshine Coast Poly but couldn't back it up last start when ninth, beaten 3.5 lengths, over 5f at Toowoomba. Goes up a rung or two but she is good enough to turn things around. PASS THE WINE (5) is a four-start maiden who is knocking on the door, the latest effort a solid third at this track over 5¼f after being in the firing line on the corner. Ideally placed to open his account.
