WALLY WEST (4) has been in the market at his last couple of starts but hasn't made an impression, last start finishing sixth over 5½f at this track. Rates highly on best figures - can do much better. MERCURY EIGHT (3) finished sixth over 5¼f at Balaklava when resuming last start, beaten only 1.2 lengths after being in the firing line on the corner. Fitter this time will prove harder to beat.
