THURMOND (3) finished 15th when resuming two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 1m4f at Geelong, beaten 2 lengths. Nicely placed to find winning ways. MADESIAN (7) improved last start to finish third over 1m2f at Ballarat after being in contention on the corner. Perfectly placed and is sure to prove tough to beat. Turned in a better run last time when fourth, beaten 6 lengths, at Mildura over 1m2f. Can go on to take this out. TULCHAN (10) was comfortably accounted for when tenth last time out over 1m5 1/2f at Werribee, beaten 11 lengths, after a win at Ballarat at the previous outing. Likely improver with top-three prospects.
