SIMPLY DEEP (7) scored narrowly over 1m1/4f at this track last time out with this jockey Anthony Darmanin in the irons. Nice weight drop so he is right in contention. THE LONGEST YARD (5) improved last time out, finishing a head from the winner in second when he worked home well at the end of 1m1/4f at this track. Meets some better types this time but another big run will not surprise. NICCO THE GREEK (2) missed the placings two runs back then improved last start when he made late ground but found a couple better over 6f at Hobart, beaten only 1. 5 lengths. This looks a sterner test than last time but on his best form he is right in contention. TUSKEGEE (6) filled a placing last time over 6¾f at this track and has been given a short break. Kept ticking over with a trial win since at Devonport Synthetic. Looks one of the genuine hopes in the race.
