LOVIN' BEV (3) is close to breaking through after two consecutive placings, the latest coming when third over 7f at Hobart after being prominent from the outset. Should be prominent from the outset. Taking on a better line-up this time but she cannot be left out. FIGHTING FLOYD (4) finished 11th two runs back at Launceston then improved last time out to score by one length over 7f at Hobart. Finds a tougher race but another win beckons. ASVA (1) is fitter for two runs back from a lay-off, progressing nicely last time to finish third, beaten 1.3 lengths, at this track over 1m1/4f. Record at this journey is impressive with four wins and five placings from 11 runs and is expected to be competitive. THE SPIRIT OF ZERO (5) ran well despite being friendless in betting when resuming last time over 7f at Hobart, finishing second and beaten one length at 33/1. Backmarker who gets home hard. Don't underestimate.
