ALISENT (4) is a four-start maiden who filled a minor placing at Geelong at the last run before lay-offing. Ran fourth in a recent trial at Devonport Synthetic. Hard to beat if back in good order as anticipated. GEEGEE AUNTY JESS (5) was well in the market last time and made it two minor placings from as many runs this prep when 2.5 lengths away in third over 5¾f at this track. Fitter and among the main hopes. THE MOUNTAINEER (3) was below his best last time, finishing sixth and beaten 4.5 lengths over 7f at Hobart. Open to improvement and should be about the money.
