LA REINA VEGA (8) produced a nice effort on debut in better company last start over 6f at Seymour when second, beaten a long neck. Will benefit from that experience so she is worth following up. LADY PUISSANCE (9) finished sixth when resuming two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 7f27yards at Seymour, beaten only a head. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. THE REGENT (5) is a first-starter by So You Think from the former top race mare Rare Diamond who has in turn produced the winner of a black type. Coming along well at the trials with a win at his most recent at Werribee. Beautifully drawn and looks certain to be competitive. MS PORT MELBOURNE (10) faced the starter for the first time and finished sixth last start at Caulfield over 5½f, beaten 8 lengths. Worth following up.
