GROUSE MOUNTAIN (6) is a genuine type with three minor placings from four starts this campaign. Continued the trend at the most recent appearance when third over 6f at Pakenham after she was prominent throughout. Well placed and there is no reason she cannot find winning ways. SCAMPI (4) is a locally trained maiden galloper who hasn't raced since finishing 2.75 lengths back in fifth over 5f at Flemington eight months ago. Fitter for two trials, placing most recently. Bold showing expected. KANANASKIS (2) returns after five-and-a-half months in the paddock. Closed the last campaign with a 13th over 6½f at Bendigo. Tuned up with a fourth in a recent trial at Cranbourne. Strong winning chance on best figures. ROSA AOTEAROA (3) raced once in the maiden campaign when eighth at Moonee Valley over 6f back on November 1. Will take a lot from that last run and is worth following up.
