VOLCANIC LOVE (14) scored narrowly over 5½f at Lismore last time out with this jockey Jai Williams in the irons. Will appreciate the big weight drop so another bold showing is expected. TREAD SOFTLY (12) showed little early speed then came with a powerful run to finish third when resuming last time out over 5½f at Lismore. Expected to prove tough to hold out again. LORDSTER (9) is struggling to break through but hasn't been far away, the latest offering a third, beaten 2.25 lengths, over 6¾f at Doomben. This is far easier. Should be involved in the finish. SHIHAB (10) showed early speed from an outside draw last time and led for much of the way before fading to finish sixth, beaten 4 lengths, over 6f at Port Macquarie. Has a win and two minor placings at this journey from four starts and should run well.
