BRILLIANT BERTI (9) finished eighth when resuming last start, beaten 4 lengths, over 1m1f at Fairgrounds. Has never been out of the money in four starts at this trip, including three wins. Brian Joseph Hernandez Jr who has four wins when partnering stays on. Should be in the finish. MERCANTE (7) has scored at his last two starts, most recently by one length over 1m1f in the G3 Kentucky Cup Classic Stakes at Turfway Park (Synthetic). That continued the very strong form this campaign, with three wins from five outings. Can feature again. PIPER'S FACTOR (1) returned from a lay-off three-and-a-half weeks ago when he was beaten 4 lengths into fourth over 1m1/2f at Keeneland. Fitter so expect a better run this time.
