COVERT KAT (6) finished 9 lengths from the winner in sixth on turf at Laurel two starts back. Missed the frame in another run on turf last time at Laurel over 5½f when 6 lengths adrift in seventh. Tough to beat back on the dirt. Worth another chance. NOTHING BUT HEIR (2) has strung together a couple of wins at this course, the latest on November 12 over 4½f when he scored by 0. 8 lengths. Winning rider Arnaldo Bocachica retains the mount. Finds a suitable race and can salute once again. SASSY LAD (5) ran well despite being friendless in betting when resuming last time over 4½f at this track (Dirt), finishing second and beaten a nose at 33/1. Among the leading hopes. RED CANDY APPLE (1) proved too strong two runs ago but was less impressive last time out when ninth over 4½f at this track, beaten 5 lengths. Worth another chance.
