FASUTO (8) kept coming only to just miss last start over 5½f at Bendigo. Has race fitness on his side now. Needs to be at his best to beat this field but he deserves his chance. BIG ME (10) produced a reasonable effort when fifth last start over 5f at Echuca, beaten 2 lengths. That followed a win at Cranbourne the start prior. Beautifully placed and is sure to be there at the finish. SHIRSHOV (6) fought on well for third last start over 5f at Echuca, making it three minor placings in a row. Has a formidable record at this journey with five wins and three placings from 12 starts and is capable of going well. PERILOUS FIGHTER (7) showed good early dash and raced on the speed last start before fading to finish 0.9 lengths back in fourth over 6f in the LR Hareeba Stakes at Mornington. Can figure in the finish.
