GALLANT PRINCE (8) raced on the speed when resuming last start and battled on well but found one better over 7f at Pakenham. Fitter and the winkers come off for this. Expected to be in the finish. RUMINATE (1) is close to a win after a string of recent placings, the latest when third at Moonee Valley but starting to prove costly. Rates well and expected to be right in this. DANGEROUS LIAISONS (10) did little and finished 4.5 lengths from the winner in eighth over 1m at Pakenham last start, a less impressive effort than her fourth at Geelong the run before. Meets a stronger field but she is good enough to turn the recent form around. SHINY NEW DEEL (4) was out of the money when resuming from a lay-off last start over 7½f at Cranbourne, beaten 5.5 lengths. Fitter and sure to run well.
