STATS (2) drifted well back last start before winding up strongly to just miss when second over 7f at Townsville. Has a formidable record at this journey with four wins and three placings from 10 starts and is a key runner. CHOIR BOY (4) was in a different class last time, sitting just off the speed before letting down impressively for a 3.5 lengths win at Laura-Qld over 7¼f. In fine form and worth following up. VALENKI (7) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 7f at Townsville, beaten 1.5 lengths into fourth. Suitably placed so anticipating a big run this time. STADIUM OF LIGHT (11) returned from a lay-off last start with a modest seventh over 6¼f at this track, beaten 6 lengths. Record here is sound including three wins from eight starts. Settles back early but winds up late. Sure to be competitive.
