ATAEGINA (4) missed the placings when resuming two runs back then didn't feature last start when 5.5 lengths away in eighth over 7f at Sale. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. PULA (1) comes here off a break of three-and-a-half months. Worth noting she filled a minor placing when returning from a lay-off last prep over 6f at Geelong. One of the genuine hopes in the race. ANGEL OF THE SEA (3) disappointed last time when seventh over 7f at Pakenham after a close second at Pakenham the run prior. Kept fresh since that last run so worth forgiving. VILLAINESQUE (9) fought on for third last start over 6½f at Wangaratta, beaten 5 lengths to add to some fine recent form. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time.
