VARANE (1) showed little early speed last start then came with a powerful run to finish second over 6f at Warrnambool. Well placed and should be hard to hold out. MAXIMUM POWER (3) missed the placings two starts back then ran a better race and finished 1.5 lengths away in fourth last time out over 6f at Yarra Valley after being in contention on the turn. Meets some better types this time but a big run will not surprise. SYDNEY GAL (12) is putting together some solid results. Finished second at Wagga two starts back then landed the prize by 0.8 lengths last time out over 7f at this track. Meeting a deeper field this time but she is up to the challenge. FIRE WHEEL (2) was out of the money when resuming from a lay-off last start over 6f at Moonee Valley, beaten 7 lengths after being in contention on the bend. Strips fitter and can figure in the finish.
