MAGNUS RED (4) knuckled down strongly to get within 0.8 lengths of the winner in third last start over 6f at Tamworth when returning from a break. Will drift back but wind up late. Leading contender. ZIPPY ZOO (8) returned from a break last start with a less than impressive seventh over 5f at Canberra after giving away a big start. Tackling a deeper field this time but she is up to the task. MANHATTAN BABY (10) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 7 lengths when fourth in a 6f contest at Beaumont (Newcastle) a month ago. Nicely placed to feature in the finish. LOHNRAKI (3) produced another moderate effort last start when 7 lengths from the winner in seventh over 6f at Kembla Grange. Likely improver with strong top-three prospects.
