M'LADY ROSE (12) turned in a decent effort last start to finish third over 1m at Pakenham after being prominent at the bend. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. UPSTAGE (13) was an impressive maiden winner last time out, scoring by 1. 3 lengths over 7f at Pakenham. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Winning rider Daniel Stackhouse sticks and she is a solid top-three hope. CALEANA (5) scored two runs back then was popular with punters last time but could only manage to finish sixth over the same trip at Bendigo. Taking on a better line-up this time but he cannot be ruled out. LIFE SENTENCE (4) showed good early speed last start before boxing on well and finishing third, beaten 6 lengths, over this trip at Cranbourne. The engagement of Declan Bates is noteworthy. Nicely placed to go a couple better.
