COMMANDER MEROO (1) got well back over 5½f at Morphettville last time and never threatened, eventually finishing 4 lengths away in 12th. Will enjoy a drop in class so he is one of the main contenders. NEVER SURRENDER (2) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with just two wins from 20 starts. Again tasted defeat last start when sixth over 6f at Morphettville, beaten 2 lengths. The engagement of Jason Holder is noteworthy. This doesn't look as hard so he is likely to feature in the finish. OUR DIVINYL (3) missed the frame on turf over 6f at Mildura in a then filled a minor placing last start on dirt over 6f at Port Augusta. Making progress. Worth following up back on turf. WILLASTON (12) gave a bold display over this course and distance last start, racing on the speed and boxing on well to finish second and beaten a nose. Hard to beat in this suitable race.
