AFFIRMATIVE LAD (8) comes here off a break of four-and-a-half months. Scored over 5f at Warrnambool to launch the last campaign. Sure to make his presence felt. FITZALAN (9) recorded a strong maiden win over 4½f at Albury last time, getting there by 1.2 lengths. Sparingly raced and has more to offer. Shaping up nicely and she is a great chance to go back-to-back. INTRIGUING STATE (6) accounted for a maiden field over 5f at this track last start when fresh from a break. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Thomas Stockdale was in the saddle on that occasion and retains the ride. This is tougher but he cannot be underestimated. LAST STYLEBENDER (2) broke his maiden last start over 5f at Cranbourne when resuming, scoring by a nose. Tougher task this time but expected to be competitive again.
