Could only manage to finish fourth last time out over 6f at Tamworth following a minor placing at this track over 5½f the run prior. Won't get too many better chances to open his account. NORTHERN EAGLE (5) resumes from a lay-off of eight months. Could only manage to finish 13th at the latest run over 6¾f at Ipswich. Ran eighth in a recent trial at Tamworth. Has ability and is a solid chance. NORTHFIRE (10) is a North Pacific gelding who cost AUD $ 10,000 (Inglis 2024 HTBA Yearling Sale) as a yearling and makes debut. Will be improved off a trial placing. Shapes well for this, can measure up at first outing. CLAW MACHINE (3) finished 9 lengths away in fifth at his last appearance over 6f at Kilcoy on April 11. Worth plenty of thought.
