Day two of the Punchestown Festival and the Planet Sport tipsters have another fistful of top selections for all the action on Wednesday, April 30.

Three Grade 1 races among Wednesday's eight-race card, including the Channor Real Estate Group Novice Hurdle (1615), the Champion INH Flat Race (1650) and the Punchestown Gold Cup (1730).

Portnacoo found success by seven lengths attempting a handicap hurdle at Carlisle  during February. Finds good opportunity to follow up in the Adare Manor Opportunity Series Final Handicap Hurdle.

Cloonainra enhanced her promising profile with a 2.25L victory attempting a 2m2f novices hurdle at Kelso earlier this month and has a big chance.

Fairyland Opera showed best scoring by 12L tackling a Tramore maiden hurdle and holds claims along with Howdoyalikeherhome who is another last time winner following a novice handicap hurdle success at Down Royal.

 

15:05 (Punchestown) Champagne Jury

Champagne Jury looks promising with a five length jumpers flat race victory at Naas preceding a second on hurdle debut at Leopardstown.

The Gavin Cromwell-trained six-year-old makes for plenty of appeal in the Connolly's Red Mills Irish EBF Auction Hurdle Series Final.

Downmexicoway was an impressive ten length winner of a Down Royal maiden hurdle before a G2 seventh at Fairyhouse and has a big chance.

Millforce maintains a progressive record following a narrow success during January in a novice hurdle at Thurles and might feature, while Coral River warrants a second look.

 

15:40 (Punchestown) American Mike

The G2 Novice Chase winning American Mike recorded a smart fourth in a competitive 2m1f G3 handicap chase at Fairyhouse two runs ago.

Gordon Elliott's eight-year-old should be respected on hurdle return in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel Hurdle. .

Kaid D'Authie produced a creditable fourth attempting the 2m G1 Ireland Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown delivering penultimate start. Back down in standard. Big chance.

Got Glory is another representing leading connections. Placed second at this Festival last year among Listed company. In the mix after a break.

Sandown winner Tradecraft also looks interesting.

 

16:15 (Punchestown) Jasmin De Vaux

The 2024 G1 Cheltenham Festival winner Jasmin De Vaux replicated at the same Festival this year with a 2.5L success attempting the 3m G1 Spa Novices Hurdle.

The Willie Mullins and Paul Townend combo looks hard to beat in the Channor Real Estate Group Novice Hurdle

Exciting chance Honesty Policy enhanced his promising profile with a 0.5L victory in the 2m4f G1 Mersey Novices Hurdle at Aintree, and will be the main danger now up in trip.

Jarrive De Mee continues unbeaten under rules following a 21L success over 2m at Haydock (UK). Holds claims raised sharply in grade.

Cardcounter bids for a hat-trick and shouldn't be dismissed.

 

16:50 (Punchestown) Bambino Fever

Banmbino Fever remains unbeaten following victories at the Dublin Racing Festival and last month at the Cheltenham Festival when 1.5L clear attempting the G1 Champion Bumper.

The fiver-year-old has a strong chance of recording another winner for Willie Mullins in the Race & Stay At Punchestown Champion INH Flat Race, which he has claimed eight times in the last 10 runnings 

Colcannon bids for a hat-trick following a 1.5L success among G2 company at Leopardstown during February. Rates highly.

Copacabana produced a winning debut at Navan before a Cheltenham tenth behind Bambino Fever. Improvement expected, while course winner Kalypso'chance might feature.

 

17:30 (Punchestown) Galopin Des Champs

Two-time G1 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Galopin Des Champs failed his historic hat-trick bid in that blue ribbon event six weeks ago when 6L second over 3m2f.

Finished runner-up in the Punchestown Gold Cup in the last two years but is still a leading contender.

Spillane's Tower won the course and distance G1 Champion Novice Chase at this Festival last year.

Recorded a fair fifth in the 3m G1 King George VI Chase at Kempton over Christmas and will be the main danger.

Banbridge won that Kempton G1 before a well beaten seventh behind the top pick at Cheltenham. Shortlist as set to bounce back.

Monty's Star ran fourth attempting the Cheltenham Gold Cup and is not out of this.

 

18:05 (Punchestown) Blue Lord

Blue Lord was a smart third in the G1 Champion Chase here last year. Filled the same place attempting the G1 Ascot Chase before pulling up tackling the national course at Aintree in the Topham Premier Handicap Chase. Strong performer.

The main threat comes from the winner of this Colm Quinn BMW Handicap Chase last year, Let's Go Champ.

Henry De Bromhead's charge ran well two outings back at Cheltenham when third over 2m4f.

James Du Berlais shaped nicely in the aforementioned Topham at Aintree managing a good fifth. Can build on latest result.

Hat-trick bidding Lightkeeper looks interesting for Gordon Elliott.

 

18:35 (Punchestown) Seo Linn

Seo Linn bids for a hat-trick in the Weatherbys General Stud Book Irish IBF Mares INH Flat Race, with a five length Listed victory in a Cheltenham jumpers flat race preceding a success attempting the Nickel Coin Jumpers Flat Event at Aintree.

The Mullins-trained Future Prospect shaped well among Listed company when 6L third over 2m at Fairyhouse and rates highly.

Carrigmoornaspruce was runner-up that day at Fairyhouse. Can continue enhancing her promising record.

Amen Kate finished fourth on that occasion. Might make the frame.
