It's the first day of the Craven Meeting at Newmarket and the Planet Sport tipsters have a selection for all seven races on Tuesday, April 15.

ITV 4 are showing four races from the Rowley Mile this Tuesday afternoon, including two Group 3s, the The Earl of Sefton Stakes (1500) and the Nell Gwyn Stakes (1535).

We've also got the other three races on the card covered too, so hopefully we'll unearth some big winners at the start of the Flat racing season.

Let's begin with a quick run through of our tips, with the reasons why we've picked them further down the page.

If you fancy a punt or two, check out the Planet Sport race centre which will show you all the live odds, racecards and results.

Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

(Please be aware selections could become non-runners after article's latest update)

(ITV 4 races with *)

13:50 (Newmarket) Elmonjed

Elmonjed ended last season with wins in competitive Class 2 handicaps at Windsor and York. Both races have worked out. Holds potential to rate higher still.

The blinkers have been taken off and has pressing claims in the Weatherbys With Venatour Racing Handicap nonetheless.

Aramram has race fitness on his side following two second placed finishes on AW. Might have more to come with this mark. Likely contender.

Dark Thirty won this race last year. Lower rated now despite winning at Doncaster on his comeback and will be a serious player.

Also consider Woodhay Wonder, who maintains an excellent record at this track. Secured victory first time out last term.

14:25 (Newmarket) Green Storm

Green Storm was last seen finishing second attempting a 1m2f G1 in France.

Also placed at this track and quicker ground not expected to inconvenience and has a solid chance.in the Feilden Stakes.

Yarmouth maiden winner Nightwalker ran third in a 1m G3 here on final start of last season. Didn’t appear to relish the track that day. Otherwise promising.

Masai Moon justified strong market support making a winning debut at Kempton in October. Must improve upon the bare form. Brings high level of potential.

Dubawi colt King Of Cities is another to consider after a promising debut campaign.

15:00 (Newmatrket) Ambiente Friendly

Last year Ambiente Friendly delivered a G1 Derby runner-up effort. Dropping back for the Earl Of Sefton Stakes will suit and could find further improvement on stable debut for trainer James Owen.

Ottoman Fleet won this race for the past two years. Enjoyed a productive lay-off in the US last summer.

Persica made rapid strides in 2024. Already a winner at Listed level and could prove fitter for encouraging comeback run on AW during February (stamina possibly stretched over 1m3 1/4f).

Course winner First Conquest showed good form in Dubai. Conceding weight all round might prove tricky.

15:35 (Newmarket) Nardra

Nardra won a 6f Haydock novice in September. Form of those in behind is only fair, however the run still impressed and has a solid chance in the Nell Gwyn Stakes.

Arabian Dusk was a G2 winner last term. Ended the year finishing third in a 6f G1 at this track. Clear form choice if staying the longer trip.

Verse Of Love created a strong impression making a winning debut over course and distance in October. Rates a smart chance.

Celestial Orbit managed to win a 7f Listed race at Sandown. That was a fierce race so don’t underestimate.

16:10 (Newmarket) Twilight Star

Seven debutantes in the Bet Boost At Bet365 Ebf Maiden Fillies' Stakes makes this a tricky one to mull over.

Godolphin newcomer Twilight Star is by Mehmas out of a mare who won by 5L making debut over course and distance. Looks good on paper.

Meelaf represents a stable adept at readying two-year-olds. Her third dam is the very fast and precocious juvenile Superstar Leo. Appealing claims.

Starspangledbanner filly Storm Flag is out of a well-related Frankel mare. Not as sharply bred as some. Warrants respect representing in-form stable.

The dam of Guernsey Lady won as a two-year-old. Might be capable of a bold showing.

16:45 (Newmarket) Zgharta

Zgharta finished an encouraging third in a 7f novice on her debut at this track. Expected to relish this extra distance and now wears a first-time hood for the Bet365 British Ebf Maiden Fillies' Stakes.

Charlie Appleby trains Victory Queen who is by Kingman and a half-sister to the G1 2000 Guineas winner Coroebus. Close market check advised ahead of debut.

Pelean shaped well when second at Southwell 27 days ago. Winner beaten since. This daughter of a Listed-winning mare holds considerable potential.

Newcomer Goldie Trickett is a full-sister to the G1 winner Saffron Beach. Compelling chance.

17:20 (Newmarket) The Trickster

The Trickster won both outings last year. Future winners in behind on each occasion. May thrive tackling this longer trip. Tops the list for the Each Way Extra At Bet365 Handicap.

Treasure Fleet is two from two on AW. Rates a key danger if able to transfer that level to turf.

Lady Chartwell showed promise in three runs last season. Produced a winning comeback making handicap debut at Chelmsford (1m2f). Might handle 7lb rise.

Hallelujah came good on his third outing last year. Related to smart winners and could prove better than this opening mark.
