ATP Monte Carlo Masters: Alejandro Tabilo vs Casper Ruud

Alejandro Tabilo's good form on clay in the last year has helped him into the world's top 50 but he will have to turn around a defeat from his previous match against Casper Ruud if he is to keep progressing in Monte Carlo.

Ruud is out to get the job done this week after a series of disappointing results in recent weeks.

The former world number two has been close to top performances but has missed out in big matches.

Ruud should be able to beat Tabilo with ease and reach the last 16 in Monte Carlo.

ATP Monte Carlo Masters: Alex De Minaur vs Tallon Griekspoor

Alex De Minaur will face Tallon Griekspoor in the Round of 32 looking for his first full ATP Tour win over the Dutchman.

Griekspoor has won both of their full ATP Tour meetings but De MInaur does have a Challenger series win over his rival.

De Minaur eased past Stan Wawrinka to in the last round while Griekspoor had to battle to get past unfancied German Dominik Koepfer.

Griekspoor has the better record on clay but not one that would be impressive enough to suggest he would have the edge over the Australian.

ATP Monte Carlo Masters: Alexei Popyrin vs Andrey Rublev

Andrey Rublev will be out to start his defence of the Monte Carlo Masters with a win in a bid to avoid a rankings disaster.

He faces a player that he leads 1-0 in the head-to-head having beaten Alexei Popyrin in Vienna last term.

Rublev let himself down in the Sunshine Double winning just one of three matches.

Popyrin won a three-setter to book his place in this round but looks destined to fall to the defending champion.

ATP Monte Carlo Masters: Holger Rune vs Sumit Nagal

Holger Rune has beaten Sumit Nagal in singles action but this will be their first ATP Tour meeting.

Rune's win over Nagal came in the Davis Cup and should give him the confidence to put him away again.

Nagal came through qualifying and beat Matteo Arnaldi to reach this stage and is certainly capable of the upset.

However, Rune will have to be far from his best to suffer a defeat to Nagal.

ATP Monte Carlo Masters: Karen Khachanov vs Francisco Cerundolo

Just five rankings places split Karen Khachanov and Francisco Cerundolo but the Russian holds a 3-0 lead in the head-to-head between the two players.

While Cerundolo has lost three times he has pushed Khachanov in two of those including their recent clash in Miami.

Khachanov had a tough opening match in Monte Carlo where he beat Brit Cameron Norrie.

Meanwhile, Cerundolo struggled to get beyond Daniel Altmeier in a three-setter that took 11 minutes short of two hours to complete.

ATP Monte Carlo Masters: Miomir Kecmanovic vs Grigor Dimitrov

Top ten star Grigor Dimitrov will need to get the better of Miomir Kecmanovic to continue his strong record in Monte Carlo.

Dimitrov already has 21 match wins to his name this season and is on something of a roll.

Kecmanovic outclassed Matteo Berrettini to start to underline that he has the ability to beat top players.

Dimitrov won the only previous clash between these two players.

ATP Monte Carlo Masters: Sebastian Korda vs Jannik Sinner

Jannik Sinner is in action for the first time since his Miami Open win and can continue an impressive Masters run of form in Monte Carlo.

Sinner can take the lead in his head-to-head with Seb Korda having split their two previous meetings.

Korda beat Alejandro Davidovich Fokina comfortably in a win that should be a warning sign for Sinner.

Korda plays a similar game to Sinner although the Italian clearly holds the edge in recent form.

ATP Monte Carlo Masters: Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Stefanos Tsitsipas

Tomas Martin Etcheverry in in great form heading into this match with an out-pf-sorts Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Tsitsipas looks vulnerable to an upset here, having eased into this round with a win over Laslo Djere.

Tsitsipas has slipped out of the top ten and has many questioning his coaching direction after a poor start to his 2024 season.

Meanwhile, Etcheverry has put in some impressive displays on clay.
