ATP Barcelona: Cameron Norrie vs Tomas Martin Etcheverry

Cameron Norrie owns a clay court win over Tomas Martin Etcheverry from their only previous meeting.

The Brit beat the Argentinean in his home event in Buenos Aires in 2023 but on current form, a win for him here would be an upset.

Etcheverry has eight wins on clay this season against the five that Norrie has notched.

Norrie could have an edge if he takes the match deep into the third set after Etcheverry took over three hours to get beyond Brandon Nakashima last time out.

ATP Barcelona: Matteo Arnaldi vs Casper Ruud

Casper Ruud has scored little reward from his excellent clay court form but he is still in the chase for the Barcelona title.

Ruud will be out for revenge over Matteo Arnaldi, who beat him at the Madrid Masters last term.

Ruud lost in straight sets as he couldn't find an answer to Arnaldi's lethal forehand.

However, Ruud plays a smart game and will be extremely tough to beat on clay.

ATP Barcelona: Facundo Diaz Acosta vs Stefanos Tsitsipas

Argentine strength on clay is in evidence in Barcelona but Facundo Diaz Acosta will need to be at his best to get beyond Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Acosta will reach a new career-high next week and break into the top 50 regardless of how he goes in the quarter.

Tsitsipas needs to reach the final in Barcelona to protect his current rankings position.

These players have not met in singles competition before so there is no head-to-head record.

ATP Barcelona: Arthur Fils vs Dusan Lajovic

Young Frenchman Arthur Fils will take on Dusan Lajovic for a place in the last four.

This will be the third time they have met with each having one won of their previous clashes.

Both past meetings between these players came on clay and this is another tight call.

In both past meetings between these players, the man who has won the first set has gone on to take the match.

WTA Stuttgart: Elena Rybakina vs Jasmine Paolini

Elena Rybakina had to retire in her most recent match against Jasmine Paolini which left their head-to-head at 1-1.

Paolini may not have a full match win over Rybakina but her game has come on in leaps and bounds of late.

Rybakina should still be the favourite for this encounter having played very well this week.

Paolini scored an upset win to oust Ons Jabeur in her last outing and will be a danger to Rybakina.

WTA Stuttgart: Marketa Vondrousova vs Aryna Sabalenka

Marketa Vondrousova and Aryna Sabalenka clash in the only all-seeded clash of the last eight.

Sabalenka leads the head-to-head between the two players 4-2 but this will be their first meeting on clay.

Sabalenka has lost the last three finals in Stuttgart and is motivated to get the job done.

Vondrousova hasn't found her best form since her Wimbledon triumph last season and will battle to best Sabalenka at her peak.

WTA Stuttgart: Iga Swiatek vs Emma Raducanu

Iga Swiatek has won both of the previous matches she has played against former British No 1 Emma Raducanu.

Raducanu puts her great touch in Stuttgart to the test against the best in the world on this surface.

Swiatek has won the last two events in Stuttgart and knows and enjoys the indoor arena.

Swiatek should breeze past the Brit despite Raducanu playing well this week.

WTA Stuttgart: Marta Kostyuk vs Coco Gauff

Coco Gauff has been beaten in some tricky quarter-finals already this season and faces another tough test in Stuttgart.

Gauff has won both of the matches these two players have contested but as they were on hard courts that might not have that much bearing on the outcome at the Porsche Arena.

Neither player has lost on clay yet this season so for one this will be the end of the line.

Gauff and Kostyuk also needed three sets to get beyond their last 16 opponents but the Ukrainian has spent more time on court this week.
