French Open 2024 Men's Singles: Grigor Dimitrov vs Jannik Sinner

This will be the fifth time that Grigor Dimitrov faces Jannik Sinner and the Bulgarian is chasing just his second win.

Sinner leads the head-to-head rivalry 3-1 and hasn't lost to Dimitrov since their very first clash in Rome back in 2020.

After breezing through the first three rounds without dropping a set Sinner finally met some resistance in round four after he gave up the opening set against the last remaining French hope Corentin Moutet before powering back for the win.

Dimitrov saw off Hubert Hurkacz in the previous round to continue what has been a great year for the world number 10.

French Open 2024 Men's Singles: Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Carlos Alcaraz

In five previous clashes, Stefanos Tsitsipas has failed to register a single match win over Carlos Alcaraz.

Alcaraz has largely put to bed concerns about his form and fitness in a brilliant run to the last eight that has seen him drop just one set.

Tsitsipas has been good but has been pushed to four sets by less-fancied opponents twice.

Tsitsipas is undoubtedly in great form on clay and this could be their closest contest yet but Alcaraz should win on the day.

French Open 2024 Men's Singles: Alexander Zverev vs Alex De Minaur

Alexander Zverev and Alex De Minaur will clash for the third time this season and tenth time overall.

De Minaur started the year by being the only man to beat Zverev at the United Cup but he came up short when the pair clashed at Indian Wells.

Zverev has played two consecutive five-set matches which could be something that takes a toll on the German.

De Minaur has spent four fewer hours on court to reach this stage of the competition and should be the fresher player.

French Open 2024 Men's Singles: Novak Djokovic vs Casper Ruud

Casper Ruud will be out to channel his Monte Carlo performance from April which saw him claim a first-ever win over Novak Djokovic.

That win does paint this match in a different light but five-set action makes this contest a much tougher prospect for Ruud.

Djokovic leads the overall head-to-head over Ruud by 5-1 and has picked up momentum through his French Open run.

This is a rematch of the 2023 final which Ruud lost to Djokovic in straight sets.

French Open 2024 Women's Singles: Coco Gauff vs Ons Jabeur

Coco Gauff leads her head-to-head rivalry with Ons Jabeur by 4-2 after six matches between the players.

Many of those clashes have been with both players ranked in the top ten as well.

They have not met yet this season with their most recent match coming at the WTA Finals in Cancun last season.

Jabeur hasn't beaten Gauff since 2022 when she won their match in Berlin while the American holds a 2-1 lead in their battles on clay.

French Open 2024 Women's Singles: Iga Swiatek vs Marketa Vondrousova

Marketa Vondrousova has put together her best performance at any level on the WTA Tour since her Wimbledon triumph last season to reach this stage.

Meanwhile, Iga Swiatek still looks like the ironclad favourite to surge to her fourth career French Open title.

Swiatek has won all three of the past meetings between these two players and has only dropped one set on her way to the last eight.

Vondrousova has also dropped just one set, albeit it to love in the second round before she came back to win.

French Open 2024 Women's Singles: Jasmine Paolini vs Elena Rybakina

Jasmine Paolini and Elena Rybakina are locked at 2-2 in their head-to-head and are set for a fascinating clash in the French Open last eight.

Paolini has ensured there is an Italian presence in the women's last eight of the French Open to go along with Sinner being a favourite on the men's side.

Rybakina should hold the edge here if she is fully fit and focused on the task at hand.

Paolini took Rybakina the distance in Stuttgart last month and this will be a tough match for the world number four.

French Open 2024 Women's Singles: Mirra Andreeva vs Aryna Sabalenka

Mirra Andreeva is the only unseeded player left in action on either side of the singles draw.

Andreeva has already seen two fairytale runs extinguished by Aryna Sabalenka and a third time looks incredibly likely.

Sabalenka is yet to drop a set during a dominant run at Roland Garros and looks like the player most likely to upstage Swiatek at this stage.

Andreeva is enjoying her best yet French Open run but probably doesn't have the tools to undo Sabalenka unless the world number two goes radically off the boil.
