French Open Men's Singles final Tips and predictions: Carlos Alcaraz to claim second Grand Slam title in Paris

The French Open reaches its conclusion on Sunday after a gruelling two weeks of Tennis, with Carlos Alcaraz taking on Alexander Zverev for one of the biggest prizes in sport (1400 BST).

Carlos Alcaraz is chasing his third career Grand Slam and first title of the season when he faces Alexander Zverev on Sunday.

Alcaraz is the man who is favoured to take the title but Zverev has quite a good record against the Spaniard and he is also chasing his first Grand Slam title.

Zverev leads the head-to-head between these players 7-4 and has won two of their last three meetings, although it was Alcaraz who came out on top when they met at Indian Wells earlier this season.

Zverev has won his last 12 matches in a row having stormed to the Rome Masters title just before the French Open got underway. Alcaraz skipped Rome as he struggled with injuries in Madrid but has found his best level during his run in Paris.

The German number one has the better record on clay this season with 16 wins in 19 matches while Alcaraz has notched 11 wins in 14 outings on the surface.

Zverev has had the tougher fortnight at Roland Garros spending nearly 20 hours on court to reach the final, playing 23 sets of tennis and 227 games.

Alexander Zverev vs Carlos Alcaraz tips

In his Australian Open win over Alcaraz back in January, Zverev was the man who took the opening set of the encounter and even if the Spaniard has only lost one opening set during his run at Roland Garros, this might repeat itself. Zverev could be a winner for the punter that backs him to take the opening set.

The total sets over/under doesn't give too much in the way of leeway but you'd fancy that this match has the potential to go the distance with two very fit and determined characters sharing the stage in Paris.

If Zverev can repeat the 6-1 scoreline of his opening set triumph over Alcaraz at the Australian Open it could be extremely valuable to French Open Men's final bettors.

Alcaraz looks like he is destined to lift that trophy and the bookies agree but you can still squeeze some value out of that result with an accurate set score prediction. It seems likely that Alcaraz will come through with a set score of 3-2 over Zverev.
