The last 16 of the men's and women's singles draws at the US Open will be settled this weekend.

While there have been a few upsets most of the top contenders on both sides of the draw remain in the field.

Here we take a look at the third round matches on Saturday and make a few picks to help you put together your tennis accumulator.

US Open men's: Carlos Alcaraz vs Daniel Evans | Pick: Alcaraz

US Open men's: Matteo Arnaldi vs Cameron Norrie | Pick: Norrie

US Open men's: Arthur Rinderknech vs Andrey Rublev | Pick: Rublev

US Open men's: Stanislas Wawrinka vs Jannik Sinner | Pick: Sinner

US Open men's: Daniil Medvedev vs Sebastian Baez | Pick: Medvedev

US Open women's: Elina Svitolina vs Jessica Pegula | Pick: Pegula

US Open women's: Ons Jabeur vs Marie Bouzkova | Pick: Jabeur

US Open men's: Carlos Alcaraz vs Daniel Evans

Dan Evans hasn't really come close to besting Carlos Alcaraz in their two previous meetings.

Alcaraz will see his adaptability tested as he faces a totally different type of opponent from his last outing when he bested big-hitting South African Lloyd Harris.

Alcaraz has won both of the previous meetings between the players and remains joint favourite to win the whole thing right now.

Evans will be out to hang in there and hope that Alcaraz offers some sort of opening.

US Open men's: Matteo Arnaldi vs Cameron Norrie

Cameron Norrie is one of three British men in the third round and appears to be the most likely to find himself in the last 16.

He faces up-and-coming Italian Matteo Arnaldi who moved to a new career-high of No 61 this week.

Norrie appears to have the edge on the 22-year-old in almost every aspect of the game.

Norrie is unlikely to be outworked by Arnaldi in what will be the first meeting between the players.

US Open men's: Arthur Rinderknech vs Andrey Rublev

Andrey Rublev is looking like a real dangerous dark horse in this draw right now, but he will need to get beyond handy Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech to get into week two.

Rinderknech has achieved two of his three hard court wins this season during the US Open and one of those was thanks to a retirement.

This will be the first meeting between the two players who have 65 rankings places between them at the moment.

Rublev found another gear to get beyond Gael Monfils last time out and now looks set to really kick on.

US Open men's: Stanislas Wawrinka vs Jannik Sinner

Jannik Sinner and Stanislas Wawrinka are set to meet for the sixth time with the Italian holding a slender edge.

Sinner has won three of their five matches but is currently on a three-match winning streak against Wawrinka.

Wawrinka won when last they met at the US Open but at that time Sinner was a teenaged qualifier.

Sinner will need to be wary of the veteran but he doubtless has the tools to prevail.

US Open men's: Daniil Medvedev vs Sebastian Baez

Daniil Medvedev has a target on his back as a former champion in New York and the young guns are out to knock him off.

One of those youngsters will be Sebastian Baez, a three-time titlist this season already.

On hard courts Medvdev will hold a considerable edge over Baez provided he plays at his best level.

This will be the first meeting between these players at any level.

US Open women's: Clara Burel vs Aryna Sabalenka

Aryna Sabalenka's bid to become world No 1 is still on track as she seeks passage into the last 16.

This is a rematch of a meeting that played out in New York last term when Sabalenka powered to a quick victory.

That clash was the only previous meeting between the players and saw Burel win just two games.

Burel has no right to even compete with Sabalenka and this one could be over in a hurry.

US Open women's: Daria Kasatkina vs Greetje Minnen

Daria Kasatkina needs a second career win in as many matches against Greetje Minnen to secure her place in the last 16.

Kasatkina defeated Minnen during her run to the Granby title in 2022.

Minnen has picked up some big wins already but Kasatkina is playing at a very high level.

Minnen has lready played five matches in New York and might be feeling it just a bit.

US Open women's: Liudmilla Samsonova vs Madison Keys

The strong home field in the women's draw will be a danger to the seeds as underlined by Liudmilla Samsonova's showdown with Madison Keys.

Keys and Samsonova are closer in ranking than any other players meeting in the third round.

Keys came into the tournament as world No 17 and Samosonova was just two places ahead as the No 15.

These players have met twice and are currently locked at one win each.

US Open women's: Elina Svitolina vs Jessica Pegula

Jessica Pegula faces a stern test of her title credentials when she meets in-form Elina Svitolina in the third round.

Svitolina was a semi-finalist at Wimbledon while Pegula is yet to get beyond the last eight in a Grand Slam.

Pegula leads the head-to-head between the players 3-1 but their last meeting in Washington went to three sets.

Pegula won her first WTA 1000 title just a few weeks ago and should still have the confidence to put away a very good player.

US Open women's: Ons Jabeur vs Marie Bouzkova

Ons Jabeur has a determination about her during this US Open run as evidenced by her winning her opening matches while ill.

She is on the mend but reportedly still dosed up on medication as there really is no quit in Jabeur.

Jabeur has beaten Bouzkova in their only previous meeting and ousted her compatriot Linda Noskova last time out.

Jabeur has reached three Grand Slam finals but is yet to lift a Major trophy.
