New date set for Murray-organised Battle of the Brits event

The tennis event organised by Jamie Murray has been rearranged for late December.

Battle of the Brits - an event which sees England and Scotland go head-to-head - was postponed two months ago due to the Omicron outbreak.

The rearranged event will take place on December 21 and 22 at Aberdeen's P&J Live - exactly one year after it was initially scheduled.

Both Jamie and Andy Murray are expected to be part of the tennis extravaganza, barring any injuries. Meanwhile, the likes of Dan Evans and Cameron Norrie are expected to feature for England.

Speaking about the rearrangement, tournament director Jamie Murray said: "We were gutted when the event couldn't go ahead as planned so it's brilliant news that we're able to reschedule for December this year.

"There has been such fantastic buzz around bringing Battle of the Brits to Aberdeen and I think that's only going to get bigger throughout the year.

"I know Andy and the rest of the players are already excited and I'm sure there will be plenty of competitive chat amongst us all between now and the first ball being hit."
