Serie A previews and tips: Giants from Milan and Rome face off in crucial six-pointers

Another crucial weekend in Italy sees the Serie A giants of Rome and Milan clash in their fight for Champions League qualification. Tipstrr football expert Sergiu Baltuta takes a closer look.

Milan v Lazio (Saturday, May 6, 14:00 kick-off)

One of these 'six-pointers' will take place in the opening of the round on Saturday afternoon as Milan take on Lazio at San Siro.
Milan are undefeated since the international break in March and managed to qualify to this season's Champions League semi-finals, but that does not paint the full picture.
They have drawn way too many games, including against some teams they should have easily beaten, so they find themselves outside the top four, level on points with Atalanta and Roma, but two behind their arch rivals Inter, who occupy fourth spot.
It would be no surprise to see this game played very tightly, with defences dominating and a narrow win or a low-scoring draw seems very likely.
Suggested bet: Milan win to nil

Milan recently lost precious points against Empoli, Bologna and Cremonese, teams they would expect to beat regardless of their starting line-up.

On the other hand, they failed to win even when they used their best starting eleven, as happened last weekend against Roma at Olimpico, when Milan narrowly avoided defeat thanks to a late goal.

Roma v Inter (Saturday, May 6 17:00 kick off)

Later on Saturday, a quirk of the fixture computer brings Roma and Inter together in another top-four six-pointer.
Recent encounters between these two teams have been exciting to watch, with their last six encounters producing 22 goals at almost four goals per game.
Suggested bet: Over 2.5 goals
A series of poor results has seen Roma slip down to seventh spot, while Inter recovered their form to climb back into the top four, albeit only two points better off than their hosts here.
In the reverse fixture in Milan, Roma managed a 2-1 win, their first win against Inter since 2017, but at Stadio Olimpico the Giallorossi have not beaten Inter since October 2016 (drawn four, lost two).
While Roma have picked up just two points from their last three outings, Inter are on a four-game winning streak, including three in the league, plus their 1-0 win over Juventus in the Coppa Italia semi-final.
Their three league games have seen them find the net 12 times, with in-form winner Lautaro Martinez helping himself to five of them.
Suggested bet: Lautaro Martinez to score at any time
