Luton Town vs Crystal Palace tips and predictions: Scrappy affair to lack goalmouth action

Kenilworth Stadium
Luton Town face Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon and Planet Sport is predicting a closely contested game.
Luton Town remain winless at home and things aren’t getting any easier with Crystal Palace visiting Kenilworth Road on Saturday.
The Eagles' resolve was on show in their 1-0 win at Old Trafford in September and it’s worth noting Roy Hodgson’s side have won at two of the three promoted sides already.
On the other hand, the Hatters can take great heart from the 1-1 draw with Liverpool, but the harsh reality is they’re collecting just 0.5 points per game.
Neither of these sides have the attacking qualities to concede multiple goals and still win games so keeping things tight will be the order of the day.
Luton’s home games against West Ham and Burnley finished 2-1 to the visitors thanks to a flurry of late goals. Despite that, games at the Kenny are averaging 2.2 goals.
Away from home, there’s only one example of Palace leaking two or more goals against a team outside the European places since October of last year.
Town have failed to score before the 60-minute mark in 11 of 12 outings and four of their previous five games have been 0-0 at half time.
All things considered, there’s enough evidence this will be a very tight game and although Palace may have the better of it, it’s best to back low-scoring outcomes.
Team news
Luton’s lengthy injury list sees Mads Andersen, Dan Potts, Sambi Lokonga and Reece Burke ruled out while Cauley Woodrow is a major doubt.
Alfie Doughty, Chiedozie Ogbene, Issa Kabore and Amari’i Bell will all be assessed in the build-up to the game.
Jeserun Rak-Sakyi, Dean Henderson and James Tomkins are the only absentees for Crystal Palace.
Roy Hodgson recently welcomed the returning Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise to the fold and Palace’s chief threats could start on Saturday.
