Brentford always put up a fight at the Gtech Community Stadium and we’re expecting them to give Premier League contenders Arsenal a scare in the Saturday early evening kick-off (1730 GMT).

After a positive start to the season, there were 64 days between Brentford thumping Fulham 3-0 at Craven Cottage and beating Burnley 3-0 at home.

That frustrating winless run saw the Bees go six without a win while throwing away four leads.

Thomas Frank’s side have fared best at the Gtech Community Stadium, collecting two wins and three draws, and they’ve been a tough nut to crack beyond that.

Dating back to Arsenal’s last visit, which was an emphatic 3-0 win for the Gunners, Thomas Frank’s side have lost just two of 21.

Arsenal's downfall has always been their poor away form, which has resurfaced in recent weeks amidst a busy schedule.

Mikel Arteta's team has won one of their last five games in all competitions, conceding nine goals in the process.

One thing Brentford do well at home is score goals. They’ve hit the back of the net in 19 straight games in TW8, averaging 1.94 goals.

Ivan Toney’s absence has brought the best out of others with Bryan Mbeumo currently on course to double last season’s nine-goal haul.

You can usually bet the house on the Bees scoring and if they’re going to find a way past Arsenal, they’ll need their new talisman to step up.

    Team news

Ivan Toney’s ban for illegal betting activity continues to present its challenges. He’s joined on the sidelines by Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey, Kevin Schade and Nathan Collins.

Mikkel Daamsgard, Josh DaSilva and Keane Lewis-Potter have all been earmarked for a return to action this weekend.

Thomas Partey, Fabio Viera, Emile Smith Rowe and Jurrien Timber are ruled out while Ben White, Martin Odegaard and Cedric Soares will be assessed.

Aaron Ramsdale will return to the starting XI as David Raya cannot face his parent club.
