Milan vs Juventus tips: Italians giants to share the spoils in tense Serie A clash

Milan host Juventus at the San Siro on Sunday night in the biggest Serie A clash of the weekend, and Sergiu Baltuta who runs SVB Tips on Tipstrr, reckons it will be too close a match to call.

After eight rounds, AC Milan sits on top of the Serie A table with 21 points, four points clear of their third-placed visitors. The team led by Stefano Pioli is in excellent form, scoring 16 goals and conceding eight, five of which came in their humbling 5-1 defeat at the hands of fierce rivals, Inter.

The Rossoneri’s attacking trio of Olivier Giroud, Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao have shared 11 goals between them, and while their attacking prowess is yet to shine in the Champions League, successive goalless draws against Newcastle Utd and Borussia Dortmund indicate their strengths at both ends of the pitch.

The Rossoneri went into the international break off the back of a hard-earned 1-0 win at Genoa, thanks to a goal scored by Pulisic in the 87th minute, which was a rare highlight in a game in which Milan received five yellow cards and one red, forcing Giroud to finish the game as a makeshift goalkeeper.

The Old Lady of Juventus appear to have rebuilt their reputation for having a miserly defence. If we discount their uncharacteristic 4-2 reversal at Sassuolo in September, the team led by Max Allegri has only conceded twice in their other seven Serie A outings.

In the last round, the Bianconeri managed a win in Derby della Mole, when goals from Federico Gatti and Arkadiusz helped them secure a solid 2-0 win against Torino

The last game between the two teams took place in the penultimate round of last season when another Giroud goal earned a 1-0 win that completed a season double after they had also won 2-0 at San Siro earlier in the campaign.

Their last four encounters have produced just seven goals, and this important showdown is likely to be another tense tactical battle, where both defences are likely to stifle their opponents’ attacking threat, so the fans are unlikely to be treated to a goal-fest on this occasion.
