Genoa vs Juventus tips and predictions: Juve to extend fine record against hosts at the Marassi

Genoa fans at Luigi Ferraris Stadium
Round 16 of Serie A begins on Friday at Luigi Ferraris Stadium, with Genoa and Juventus facing off.
Juventus are currently second in the league, two points behind leaders Inter, and can reclaim the top spot with a win against Genoa this weekend, while league leaders Inter Milan face a trip to Lazio.
Genoa won their most recent game against Juve, a 2-1 home win in May 2022, but before that, the team from Turin had won the previous 5 Serie A games, scoring at least two goals. In 5 of the 6 mentioned games, both of the teams scored and over 2.5 goals were scored.
Things are becoming increasingly difficult for Genoa, who have only managed to earn one point from their last three matches.
In their last game, they suffered a 1-0 defeat away to Monza, with the winning goal coming in the dying moments of the game.
It was the second consecutive away game in which they were beaten late on and the result leaves them just three points above the drop zone.
Genoa have been in good form at home, having lost just one of their last six Serie A matches, a 0-1 defeat to AC Milan. The loss was a controversial one, with Genoa conceding a late goal.
They’ve also secured three wins, including a 4-1 victory over AS Roma and two draws, one of which was a 2-2 thriller against defending champions Napoli.
This won’t be an easy game, but Juve are in fine form. They’re unbeaten in their last 10 as the Serie A table starts to look like a two-horse race between themselves and Inter.
With only nine goals conceded, the team from Turin has the second-best defence in the league. Almost half of those goals came in a single game, a 2-4 loss to Sassuolo.
Max Allegri's team have won six of their last seven matches, all by a single goal. Four of those victories were by a score of 1-0.
Last week, the Bianconeri managed to secure a 1-0 victory over Napoli thanks to a goal from Federico Gatti, who scored for the third time this season and became the team’s third-leading scorer behind Dusan Vlahovic (5) and Federico Chiesa (4).
