Euro 2024 qualifier tips: Turkey vs Croatia - goals in store as hosts look to control Group D

As the international break draws to a close, Tipstrr football pundit Sergiu Baltuta takes a closer look at where the best betting value might lie in Croatia's Tuesday night visit to Turkey.

Turkey were the only team to pick up three points from the opening round of Group D games after managing a hard-earned 2-1 comeback win in their tricky trip to Armenia.

That was the third consecutive 2-1 win for the team led by Stefan Kuntz, with friendly victories over Scotland and Czech Republic displaying a positive response to their shock 2-1 defeat against the Faroe Islands, Turkey's only reversal in their last nine outings (Won 7, Drawn 1, Lost 1).

Meanwhile, Croatia were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Wales, who snatched a last-gasp equaliser in the third minute of stoppage time, cancelling out Andrej Kramaric's first-half opener.

Despite that setback, Croatia are also in the midst of a decent run of form, as their only defeat in 14 games came in their 3-0 loss to Argentina in the semifinals of the Qatar World Cup, while their last defeat away from home outside a finals tournaments was in June 2021 (0-1 in Belgium).

That suggests we could be in for an enthralling encounter in Turkey, where the hosts have found the net at least twice in all of their last seven home games, while their last five games have all produced over 2.5 goals with both teams scoring.
