EFL Leagues One and Two previews and tips: Sheffield Wednesday soaring, Sutton United on a roll

EFL Leagues One and Two are reaching the business end of their hectic campaigns, and with so many promotion and relegation battles going on, there is plenty of betting value to be found.

League One

Barnsley emerged as victors in five of six games in February, scoring 16 as they saw off several struggling sides. On Saturday, they'll travel to face a Bristol Rovers side who have slid down the table after winning just three of 11 in 2023.

Inconsistency has plagued Joey Barton's men at home, resulting in more points on their travels. It's also important to note that they're winless in eight against the top six sides, including their 3-0 reversal at Oakwell.

Rovers' 3-0 win at calamitous Oxford does not necessarily indicate a side that's back on track. The Gas had failed to win in seven games before that, and in truth, they were beaten comfortably by four pretty poor sides.

It feels a little bit like things are unravelling for Barton at the moment and Barnsley to win looks tempting at above or around even money.

Sheffield Wednesday have amassed 101 points from their last 46 games and have lost just eight of 55 since the start of 2022.

Long-term and over the past few weeks, their stunning form makes them look a shoe-in for promotion and it wouldn't be a shock to see them win the league.

This weekend they welcome a Peterborough United side who possess a major goalscoring threat, but they've struggled to keep sides out on their travels.

They have tightened things up a little to keep three clean sheets in their last four away games, but before that had allowed 21 goals in 12.
The Posh have lost all five away games against teams currently above them in the table, and eight of 10 overall. A home win looks acca worthy, but a better stand-alone price is probably Over 2.5 goals.

League Two

There are two standout acca-worthy selections in League Two on Saturday.
Stockport were the form side in League Two during February and they also possessed the most potent attack, netting 12 times as they won five of six.
Their home form has seen them win seven of nine, scoring 16 and keeping six clean sheets as they continue their push for back-to-back promotions.

Doncaster are the visitors on Saturday and after struggled for consistency on their travels all season, losing four of five since Christmas, they look unlikely to buck that trend at Edgeley Park.

After winning their last three games and six of seven at home, Sutton United seem to be the team making a late push for the playoffs.
This weekend's opponents Crewe have only lost four times on their travels, but they were all to sides in the top half, and they still have four more of those to come including some top-six sides.
While Sutton could move into the top six with a win, Crewe are probably guaranteed League Two football again next season, but the playoffs are out of reach.
It's the sort of late-season fixture that should be straightforward for the team who needs it more.
