    Burnley vs Newcastle tips and predictions: Survival hopes meet European aspirations at Turf Moor

    Burnley will be looking to boost their Premier League survival hopes when they welcome Newcastle to Turf Moor this Saturday afternoon (1500 BST).

    The Clarets are hanging on to their top-flight status by a thread… a very fragile thread at that.

    Vincent Kompany’s men are enjoying their best run of form this season, losing just one of their last eight matches.

    That may sound impressive but with five of those matches ending in draws, it hasn’t exactly made a big dent in the relegation race.

     

    While their upturn in form is admirable, Burnley’s inability to turn draws into victories could very well cost them their Premier League status.

    Picking up wins is of vital importance and that certainly won’t be easy when Newcastle come to town for a Saturday afternoon clash.

    The Magpies have won three of their last four games and have scored 10 goals in that time.

    Newcastle have won their last five head-to-head meetings against the Clarets and even sent the club down to the Championship with a victory back in 2021/22.

    Burnley head into the fixture without Ameen Al Dakhil, Louis Beyer, Luca Koleosho, Aaron Ramsey and Nathan Redmond.
