Brentford vs West Ham tips and predictions: Irons to finally get the better of Bees in Premier League

Planet Sport Bet's Robbie Savage thinks West Ham will be on cloud nine after the victory over Arsenal and will prove too much for Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

Last season Brentford beat West Ham twice in the league, on both occasions it was 2-0.

But things are different at West Ham. On the back of beating Arsenal in the Carabao Cup, what a great victory that was, 3-1, and Bowen is in fine form for West Ham.

I think it might be a role reversal. I think West Ham will win 2-0, with Bowen to get the goal.

Robbie’s tip: Brentford 0-2 West Ham

    Team news:

Brentford are unlikely to change the side that beat Chelsea but Shandon Baptiste may be back from his shoulder injury to force his way on to the bench.

The Bees will still be without Rico Henry (knee), Ivan Toney (suspended), Keane Lewis-Potter (calf), Mikkel Damsgaard (knee), Josh Dasilva (thigh) and Kevin Schade (adductor).

West Ham are without key players Edson Alvarez and Lucas Paqueta who are both suspended. There are no fresh injury worries and Kurt Zouma, James Ward-Prowse and Michail Antonio are expected to return to the starting line-up. Although the out-of-form Antonio's place has been under threat recently.

    Key stats:

    - Two side have not drawn in last six meetings, stretching back to 1992

    - West Ham have only beaten Brentford twice in last six, and have never beaten them in Premier League

    - Brentford beat West Ham twice in the Premier League last season, both 2-0. But lost in the FA Cup to the Irons

    - West Ham no clean sheet in six

Other Planet Sport bets to consider:

Brentford will be well-rested for the visit of West Ham and looking to build on their first consecutive wins of the season.

David Moyes fielded a strong side to get the better of Arsenal in the Carabao Cup. The Hammers' 3-1 win was an emotive affair as Declan Rice returned to the London Stadium.

The victory was their first in five and their fourth game in 11 days, while this will be the Bees' third game in 15 days.

Thomas Frank’s side have lost just one of 15 at the Gtech Community Stadium and so the visitors will need to dig in and be patient, which could mean limited opportunities.

Four of the five meetings between the clubs have finished 1-0 or 2-0 with the only exception being a late Yoane Wissa goal as Brentford beat West Ham 2-1 in their first meeting.

Under 2.5 goals is a nice price while there’s no guarantee that both teams will score.

If you’re looking for a bet in the goalscorer market, then Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo has found the net six times this season.

On the other hand, Jarrod Bowen remains the visitor's biggest threat with seven goals in all competitions.

Finally, first-half goals have been at a premium in Brentford matches.

They’ve been level at the break in six of 10 in the Premier League, so consider backing a first-half draw.
