Borussia Dortmund vs PSG tips and predictions: Parisian strength to prevail over German atmosphere

A place in the Champions League final is on the line as Borussia Dortmund host PSG in the first leg of a tasty European last-four clash on Wednesday evening (2000 BST).

Of the four clubs remaining in the competition, it’s fair to say that Borussia Dortmund are the odd ones out.

Bar their ongoing run in Europe, this has been a difficult campaign for Edin Terzic and his men.

The Black and Yellow’s are currently fifth in the Bundesliga and enter their midweek match on the back of a 4-1 thrashing in Leipzig.

BVB failed to mount a credible title challenge and find themselves a mammoth 24 points adrift of champions Bayer Leverkusen.

Nevertheless, the season is not over yet. Dortmund will be hoping their epic home support can help them make a strong start to their semi-final against PSG.

The German outfit are unbeaten at home in Europe and scored four goals past Atletico Madrid in their previous Champions League outing on home turf.

PSG have never won away at Signal Iduna Park despite having three opportunities in recent years.

Nevertheless, the French champions are unlikely to be intimidated considering they are unbeaten in 15 away games across all competitions.

In the quarter-final, PSG lost their first leg clash with Barcelona before turning on the style and scoring four goals away in Spain.

We expect the Parisians to have too much fire-power for a Dortmund side who are making up the numbers in this semi-final line-up.

The visitors to win and both teams to score is the way to go. Backing a 3-1 in the correct score market should also provide plenty of value.

Team news

Borussia Dortmund will be without Ramy Bensebaini and Seb Haller for Wednesday’s encounter. There are also doubts over Mats Hummels, Ian Maatsen, Donyell Malen.

PSG, meanwhile, will be missing Presnel Kimpembe and Sergio Rico.
