Ramsey and Roberts sink Turkey in Baku

Goals from Aaron Ramsey and Connor Roberts helped Wales to a 2-0 win over Turkey to all but secure progression into the Last 16 stage.

With their final group game coming against Italy, Wales needed to beat Turkey in order to have a realistic chance of staying in the tournament.
With four points to their name, Wales are now guaranteed a top three finish. While the third place doesn't automatically secure a spot in the next round, it certainly keeps the side in contention.
Ramsey scored the opener in the 42nd minute after capitalising on a wonderful pass from Gareth Bale.

The Juventus midfielder, who earlier missed two great opportunities, was a nuisance for the Turkish defence throughout the contest.
Bale himself had an opportunity to stamp his name on the scoresheet when he earned his side a penalty in the second-half. However, a poorly taken spot kick meant the game entered a pulsating final 30 minutes.

Both teams had chances during the closing stages but in the end, it was Wales who had the final say.
Swansea defender, Connor Roberts, bagged the winner to make sure of the three points.
